Definitely an homage to that Super Mario 64 mini-games collection on the DS.
Where you find characters perfectly hidden across with a time limit.
And this does perfectly to test you if you can recognize some of the Sonic cast (and fan made ones).

Surprisingly gets better with the series and doesn't disappoint. Some areas are definitely annoying to pass through like the chase sequence with the gang against Nemesis but doable.
Train scenario was beautiful though! Nicely improved the gunplay and inventory system along with the crafting system.
Additionally Metal Slug sprites are still being used quite well.

This is such a fun and clever idea to play with. It's addicting!
Music is catchy too.
